On the Pembrokeshire Coast Path

Newgale Beach at Dusk
Patterns in the Sand – Newgale Beach in Pembrokeshire

I’ve just returned from an amazing few days backpacking the Pembrokeshire Coast Path with my son, Paul. As you may know, a few years ago I backpacked the whole route on my own over a two week period, and last autumn I walked the first part again with Paul. Since he does not have the benefit of being retired, we could only walk for four four days, so we returned again last week to walk the next section from St David’s to Pembroke.

This shot was taken as we ended the first day, which had been an absolutely stunning sunny day. We arrived at Newgale just as a bit of light rain began to fall and the light took on an eerie glow, and we decided to walk the last mile along the beach in our bare feet – the tide was coming in so bare feet were essential to get around the headland. It was such a great end to the day despite the rain, or maybe because of the rain, and of course the awesome light which reflected off the wet sand

I will put up some full blog entries in due course when I have had a chance to process all the pictures, but this is a taster 🙂 !

Thanks for stopping by.
